Steamed Plantains

Steamed plantain is a delicious West African side dish that is packed with flavor and nutrition. Not only is it low in fat and rich in dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals, but it also has a rich history of being a part of African culture for centuries. 

Ingredients

  • 3 plantains (ripe)

Instructions

  1. Prep the plantainsPeel and cut the plantains into 2 or 3.
  2. Boil some waterPlace a pot on medium heat. Add some water, insert the steaming basket and bring to a boil.
  3. Steam the plantain slicesArrange the plantains on the steaming basket, cover with a lid and allow the plantains to cook for 10 minutes.
